Two Shadows // OPEN

Of all the places in the world, the one that intrigued Siren the most in her past lives was Nexul, a futuristic, tribal like system that loved throwing festivals within their glass cities. She set in the coordinates to her TARDIS and set off for a new adventure. She took in a deep sigh, feeling the nostalgia come back. Although last time she was here, she was with the Doctor and they were both in their previous forms. She doubted they'd remember who she is.

When she arrived, she noticed the large, oriental gardens were still left untouched and the smell of flowers filled her senses. The large path that lead to the glass city was quite beautiful, and she could see it glimmering in the distance. Taking the path, something was quite different though. There were spores that were peeling off from some of the trees within the gardens, which was strange to her. She's never seen a plant react like that before.

What concerned Demory the most though, was when she had gotten to the city... and there was no sign of anyone. No festival, no dancers, not even a single person walking from one building to the other. "Well that's peculiar..." she murmured to herself as she looked around. Maybe something happened? Maybe they were still asleep. Looking at the large clock tower though, it was midday.

Pulling out her sonic scanner, she decided to check how things were going. Maybe she could find life forms. She read it after analyzing the area, and noticed that the planet was vastly populated still! "Hmm..." she began, but she suddenly heard someone screaming in the distance, running toward her. "Help me!" they were crying out in terror. They immediately put their hands on her shoulders, shaking her. "They're coming! They're--no, no! Stay out of the dark! Whatever you do!" she wailed.

"What are you talking about?" Demory raised an eyebrow, but she suddenly jumped back from the person with a gasp as she looked down at her feet. The crying woman had two shadows. Trying to stay as calm as possible, Demory took a hard swallow and shook her head. "Just stay still... stay still--" she tried to explain, but in a flash, the woman was from flesh to bone. The shock had caused Demory to drop her scanner as she watched in terror. What in the world would she do to stop this?

It was Amadeus's plan, after all, to plant the Vashta Nerada onto the planet. For the longest of times Naxul had been at war with his own kingdom, so he had decided to take it upon himself to end it once and for all, whatever the cost. The wonderful thing about being an Aktor was that their flesh was not edible for Vashta Nerada. He was impervious.

Upon hearing a scream, Amadeus smirked. His plan was working. There was nothing but an echo of the world around him now, and this ghost town would soon be forgotten. Strolling along the streets of the empty city of glass, he saw something most peculiar. A woman, whom was holding a sonic scanner, one much too familiar to him. He raised an eyebrow, watching her intently.

The way she was reacting to the situation was as though she had seen strange things like this before. How fascinating. Who was this young woman and why was she here? how did she get here in the first place. Taking a step toward her, he clapped his hands together with a smirk. "Well, hello, young woman. Who might you be and how in the world did you not run after that charade?"

"No," Siren's voice murmured with the wind as her eyes widened to see the man approach her. She knew that face far more than her own. It was the only face in the entire universe than inflict such terror in her heart. Wearing a black, long cloak and a fitted, black scarf with a tight, black jacket and pants beneath it with laced boots, Siren's long brown hair was gliding in the wind underneath a black fedora. She immediately hid her lips under the scarf, biting it tightly as she took a step away from him.

Her hearts were racing, the ticking ambient in the back of her mind, something she had not heard in ages. She remembered how crazy it had drove her and hearing it again was nothing but agitating to her now. He had to of known it was her by now. She didn't know what to do anymore. She felt the panic in her mind begin to slowly deteriorate her composure.

"I'm Siren," she said quickly. Thankfully, no one really knew who Siren was. Simply an echo in the universe whom was also known as a ghost. A woman of sultry. "I've seen some things here and there," she pursed her lips with a nod. She wasn't sure how much longer she could put up this act against this man. The fear in her eyes was much too prominent.

"Siren," Amadeus mused as he cocked his hands behind his back, pressing them together as he began to pace around her. "Something seems oddly familiar about you," he nodded, "Yet I'm sure I've never seen you before..." he gave a smirk. "By your reaction to me... I say, you must have seen me before or you wouldn't be acting so cautious in my presence."

So now he was left in wonder as to who she might be. She must have known him. He thought to the back of his head, just wondering who in the world would react in such a way that was still alive. His eyes widened suddenly as a look of triumph came over him. "Ah... so this what you've become..."

The woman who he'd chased, galaxy beyond galaxy, who died in the hands of her lover had regenerated and disappeared from the world. It's her, he chuckled to himself. "Welcome back, Demory... do you plan on coming with me?" he tilted his head. How unfortunate he left her orbs back at his quarters. He had not seen her in centuries, so why would he?

How did he know? Siren's eyes widened as she bit down hard on her lip, taking a step back. "No, you must be mistaken," she attempted to lie. "My name is Siren." She took another step back in defense as she looked down. She felt so stupid for running into him so suddenly without any warning. Now he'd try to trace her again...

She thought for a moment on whether she should make a run for it. No, then he'll know it's you... try to lie your way out of it and then run if that doesn't work... she told herself. She felt a drop of sweat trickle down her forehead from the nervousness, but it was hidden by her hair.

"Who are you?" she asked, trying to play the part of a clueless woman. "Are you from around here? I can't quite figure out what happened here..." she looked around for a moment. "I don't remember Vashta Nerada being native to this planet." she shrugged.

Narrowing his eyes, he grit his teeth and sighed. "You are quite annoying, aren't you?" He took a deep breath before flashing forward, grabbing her by the arm and pulling her cloak off. When her hair flew out, he looked her in the eyes with a sinister grin. "Hello, Demorytor, it's been far too long..."

Whipping her back so that she would land on the ground, he then pulled her arms back behind her back and started to wrap the twine he held around his arm on her wrists to restrain her. "You're coming with me. You are not getting away from me again, and your precious Doctor will not be able to do a thing about it."
